Ezekiel Elliott will play Week 1 against Giants despite suspension being upheld

The NFL players' union has since sued the league on behalf of Ezekiel Elliott, seeking to vacate the upcoming ruling of an arbitrator on the appeal of the Dallas running back's six-game suspension in a domestic violence case.

The NFL and NFLPA had to appear in court on Elliott's original suit Tuesday night, and at the time, Henderson had yet to issue a ruling on whether Elliott's suspension would be upheld. The Elliott camp was understandably upset about this delay, as the NFL was pretty clearly working to file the decision in such a way to get Ezekiel's immediate date in a Texas court pushed back and potentially moved to NY or another favorable spot for the league.

The NFLPA also said Henderson denied attempts by Elliott's attorneys to have Thompson testify. If denied, Elliott would begin serving his suspension with the Cowboys' Sept. 17 game at Denver.

"Not only did the underlying facts not support the false allegations made against Mr. Elliott, but the process in which they were gathered and adjudicated were fundamentally unfair", Elliott attorney Frank Salzano said Friday.

Based on the testimony we heard during Elliott's appeal hearing last week, his ex-girlfriend Tiffany apparently had an affair with Elliott's former teammate Lucky Whitehead.

Have another look of that Ben Woodburn's rocket vs Austria
There are no doubts about that now after the 17-year-old's stunning victor on his debut against Austria on Saturday. Gareth Bale has revealed the part he played in helping Ben Woodburn choose to play for Wales rather than England .

The suspension won't keep Elliott from playing in Week 1, though. The NFL says it found "credible evidence" that Elliott used physical force on the woman involved.

The six-game suspension is the baseline penalty for a first offense of domestic violence under the terms of the revised personal conduct policy enacted by the league and the owners of the teams in December 2014. Prosecutors didn't pursue the case, citing conflicting evidence.

Dallas Cowboys' second year running back is now in the appeal process for his six-game suspension stemming from domestic abuse allegations from an ex-girlfriend.

The Commissioner wants the answer to be yes in both cases so Roger Goodell, to save face and try to do what's right in the court of public opinion gave Elliott a six game suspension.

Henderson's decision to uphold Elliott's suspension comes in spite of lead National Football League investigator Kia Wright Roberts testifying at Elliott's appeal hearing that she hadn't found necessary corroborating evidence to back the claims of Elliott's accuser, Tiffany Thompson. Helping the Cowboys reach a 13-3 record in 2016, Zeke had 322 carries for 1,631 yards and averaged a rushing touchdown per game with 15 scores. The judge will rule Friday on the fairness of the arbitration process. I'm pretty sure the coaching staff will let us know throughout the course of the week what's going on.
