Android Oreo supports theming without root

The update version 1.11.617.3 was released for the smartphone according to the official change log posted by HTC on its website.

Get ready Android fans, Android 8.0 is officially labeledas "Oreo".

Substratum's development team says that it'll be releasing an app for the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P within a week or so that will allow users on these devices running Android 8.0 Oreo to download and apply Substratum themes.

By downloading these things, you can give your device a new look but you can't the features of the Android O on your device without actually updating it to Android Oreo.

HTC has confirmed that Android 8 Oreo will be making its way to at least three of its handsets - U11, U Ultra and 10 - by the end of the year.

Your wireless carrier and phone manufacturer also have to configure with the software before it can get to your phone. Google in its blog announcing the new flavour of Android mentioned "Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global Home of Nokia Phones, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony are scheduled to launch or upgrade devices to Android 8.0 Oreo".

Users will have to extract the Oreo ZIP file in the same directory of their Android Debug Bridge (ADB), after which they can plug their phone to their computer and execute the batch file in ADB.
