The NXT run was nice, but it's good to see the longtime TNA wrestler appear on the main roster where he belongs.

From a Roode awakening to a Lone Wolf running riot, here's all the action that went down last night on WWE Smackdown LIVE. The glorious one has departed from NXT, with his first match on Smackdown LIVE being a face-off against Aiden English. WWE needs to shore up their numbers as well as anything else right now, which makes "Smackdown Live's" numbers all the more important.

Daniel Bryan brings Chad Gable to his office to address Gable's future, now that his tag team partner Jason Jordan is on Raw. At SummerSlam, the WWE Championship match between champion Jinder Mahal and challenger Shinsuke Nakamura ended in an all too familiar sight as, just when it seemed like Nakamura was closing in on becoming the new WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal's backup, The Singh Brothers, would get involved. If Owens loses, he will not be allowed to challenge for the United States Championship until AJ Styles drops the title. Towards the end of the bout, Mojo hit Jimmy on the outside while Zack Ryder went and kicked Jey. After the match, they cut a promo and put every tag team on notice because they will suffer the same fate as The New Day. Owens refused to accept the match unless he could pick his own referee, which Styles and McMahon eventually agreed to as long as Owens understood it was his last shot at the USA title as long as Styles is champion. This led to The Singh Brothers walking in and introduced Jinder Mahal.

Wasting no time in showing off her new Smackdown's Women championship, Natalya bragging quickly earned her a spot in a tag team match against Naomi and Becky Lynch.

Carmella tries to stay out of the match but once she's tagged in, Naomi hits her with the split-legged moonsault to pick up a win, gaining some of her momentum back.

When the main event match arrived, "The Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin was Owens' special guest referee. Back in the ring, Styles snapped Owens' neck over the top rope and hit the Phenomenal Forearm with McMahon counting to three.
