A far more pressing concern for the Kop is the future of playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who has reportedly handed in his transfer request.

It is an area Liverpool must fortify, while also adding to midfield and sticking to their "definitive stance" that Coutinho will remain at Anfield when the window closes.

It is understood the player's representatives suggested privately he would be submitting the request at lunch time yesterday, and that duly followed, with the player himself sending an e-mail to the club setting out a formal transfer request.

The Brazil worldwide handed in a transfer request this week after the Merseyside club rejected a Barca bid worth £90m plus add-ons.

Paris Saint-Germain paid a world-record €222million to meet the Brazil forward's release clause last week, a move Rivaldo hopes will ultimately improve his old club's spirit and resolve.

Philippe Coutinho wants out of Liverpool, with an offer from Barcelona on the table.

In its announcement, the company explained that Facebook Watch would include a new type of video on its platform. While Facebook is still in the early stages of rolling out Watch , it already has an attractive lineup of shows.

Liverpool had not originally expected Coutinho to agitate to leave given the player's own wish to move to Camp Nou only if a deal could be agreed on amicable terms.

"Before Coutinho put in this request I thought Liverpool would keep him and he'd probably go in 12 months", the retired defender said.

For Liverpool fans, it won't be the first time they have lost a big name player to Barca, with the Catalonians stealing both Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano in recent years.

"I think I have said it already a few times, but maybe that's not 100 percent clear".

"Gio told me all the great things about the league, about the city, about the country", Vela said.

Former Chelsea winger Salah, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the off-season, won a penalty converted by Roberto Firmino in the 54th minute and then bundled in the Brazilian's lofted pass from close range.

For a bit of "fun", I made a decision to have a look for some suitable replacements for the Brazilian and came up with the following shortlist if Liverpool does decide to let Coutinho go this summer.
