Los Angeles Dodgers: Chris Taylor expectations this year and beyond

They are on pace to win 114 games this year, which would tie the 1998 Yankees for second most in a single season.

Given the opposite directions the Mets and Dodgers have gone this season, it comes as no surprise that L.A. has taken two of the first three games against NY in its weekend series and will look to complete the sweep Sunday night.

Overall, the Dodgers have won nine consecutive games against NY dating back to last season, and have never swept the season series against the Mets before Sunday. He previously tossed seven shutout innings against the San Francisco Giants on July 30. Severino allowed one run on two hits with nine strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.

We are now talking about next year for this Mets team. He's now given up at least five runs in four of his last six starts. He issued no walks and lowered his ERA to 3.53 on the season. "But now, and only now, do we get the OK, and so we're going to have a baseball game here tonight, about seven hours later than we should have". In the third, Ryu allowed a single to Travis d'Arnaud, but struck out the next two batters - Amed Rosario and Steven Matz - and got Michael Conforto on a grounder to second to end the inning. They'll usually start a better pitcher than the opposition, they can outslug you, they defend well, they seldom blow leads in the late innings and they have one of the game's best closers in Kenley Jansen. Cody Bellinger added a two-run homer in the eighth, giving the Dodgers 10 homers in the three-game series.

The five home runs equaled a season high for Los Angeles, delighting plenty of vocal Dodgers fans in the Citi Field crowd of 40,060.

For Bellinger, it was his 32nd home run of the season, three short of matching Mike Piazza's franchise rookie record. It was only two years ago that the Mets ousted the Dodgers in the NLDS, but now the gap between the teams couldn't be much wider.

Hiroshima marks nuclear attack anniversary
None of the nine countries that possess nuclear weapons took part in the negotiations or voted on the treaty. The U.N. estimates nations around the world still have some 15,000 nuclear weapons in their arsenals.

Life is so good for the Los Angeles Dodgers right now, even the so-called imperfections seem to fit into the mosaic perfectly.

"Their pitching has been awfully steady", said Herzog. Throughout the game, Ryu threw a total of 22 cut fastballs, 17 changeups, 20 curves, four sliders and 33 four-seam fastballs. "It was a game that taught me the importance of your command".

Matz entered this season with a 3.16 ERA in his career, but had made just 28 starts due to various injuries. The lefty made just six regular-season starts during his rookie year in 2015 due to a partial tear of his left lat muscle, and he missed the final month and a half of the 2016 campaign due to a bone spur that was removed in an offseason surgery. He has been struggling to get his fastball velocity up to par.

Ryu, who the Mets could barely touch all evening.

"I think it's just a matter of time before we start hitting 'em", Bellinger said. "I know I have to work on my velocity going down as I threw more innings, but other than that, I'm alright". Just like Ryu's pitching, the Dodgers got off to a great start, scoring three runs at the top of the first.

Nobody expected Ryu to be much of a factor for the Dodgers in 2017.
