In the last few days, the Chinese rhetoric has become increasingly noisier, with even its defense ministry issuing warnings to India. As the world keeps a close watch amidst fears of the latest conflict between India and China boiling over into an all-out war, it is easy to forget that what is also at stake here is the sovereignty of an independent nation-Bhutan-caught in the crossfire.

It said the Modi government was violating worldwide laws and was putting India's national honour and peaceful continuation of progress in jeopardy. If the Modi government takes China's goodwill for weakness, its recklessness will only lead to devastation.

"This makes it hard for China or India to back down", said a Beijing-based source who is familiar with the discussions between the two sides. Its embassy in India briefed the Nepal counterparts a day ago. But the annual drill was suspended for four years after the first two editions in Kunming (2007) and Belagavi (2008), because of a raging diplomatic row on multiple visa issues, compounded by border frictions. And that the statements indicate a seriousness that India would be well advised not to ignore.

It is a very powerful army and I think they also have (much) training in mountain warfare", Desai said."So, according to me, it will be a very tough fight for India.

India is publicly challenging a country that is far superior in strength.

It said India's recklessness had "shocked" the Chinese.

It further said, "Maybe its regional hegemonism in South Asia and the Western media comments have blinded New Delhi into believing that it can treat a giant to its north in the way it bullies other South Asian countries".

Over the past month, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has been on the move.

"It is a war with an obvious result", the editorial pronounced. "PM Narendra Modi should be aware of the [Chinese army]'s overwhelming firepower and logistics".

China and India have always been suspicious of each other, a legacy of the 1962 border war, India's playing host to exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and China's close relations with India's regional rival Pakistan.

Steph Curry calls out pro after breaking 76 on debut
He made five straight pars and birdied No. 14 but he played the final three holes at plus-1 with two bogeys and a birdie on 17. Among the players Curry finished ahead of was two-time PGA Tour victor Frank Lickliter .

So why hasn't the PLA started?

India on Wednesday had reiterated that peace and tranquility along Indo-China border is an important prerequisite for smooth development of bilateral relations between the New Delhi and Beijing.

The Modi government's hard-line stance is sustained by neither laws nor strength. "This administration is recklessly breaking worldwide norms and jeopardising India's national pride and peaceful development".

A standoff between Indian and Chinese troops is continuing along the border in Doklam in Sikkim sector close to the tri-junction of India, China and Bhutan, since June 16.

The main focus of the dispute is the Dong Lang area. Beijing has accused New Delhi of violating a convention signed in 1890 between Britain and China relating to Sikkim and Tibet. If there is war, it will be a US-China war, with India on the US side, in the South China Sea and in the Himalayas.

The stability and inviolability of boundaries are a fundamental principle enshrined in global law.

A Chinese expert quoted in the article stated that "The Chinese side will inform the Indian Foreign Ministry before its operation", and that India will have to "bear all the consequences".

The spokesman also referred to a June 30 statement on India being in consultation with Bhutan on this matter. "This is untenable from India's point of view", he said. Matters concerning the boundary tri-junction have nothing to do with this incident. "China really wants to resolve this ahead of the BRICS summit".

Both Doval and Yang are Special Representatives of the two countries in the boundary talks.
