Rays land 1B Duda from Mets

The New York Mets are obvious sellers at the trade deadline, and the team has already started to make some moves ... even if Curtis Granderson tried to stop it. He now gets to join the playoff hunt with the Rays, if only he could shake Grandy off his leg. Word that the Mets had completed a deal for minor league relief pitcher Drew Smith for their long-time, veteran first baseman quickly filtered through the team, confirmed by the items being pulled and packed from his locker. "We wish him all the best and thank him for everything he's done here in NY".

With Lucas Duda the first to go, the remaining Mets trade chips brace for their fate.

As for Duda, he figures to take over as Tampa Bay's primary designated hitter. He's hitting.246 with 17 homers and 37 RBI thus far on the 2017 season.

Starbucks to close all Teavana locations
Across the country, food traffic many malls and food courts (where most Teavana locations are found) has been steadily declining. Starbucks will continue to sell Teavana drinks in its Starbucks stores as well as bottled Teavana drinks in grocery stores.

In 2014-2015 Duda had two breakout years, hitting.249/.350/.483 with 57 home runs, 168 RBIs in 288 games, while striking out 273 times in 985 at-bats. The Rays are a game out of the AL Wild Card while the Mets are nine games out in the NL. Perhaps another deal lies in wait before next week's trade deadline.

That tomorrow could include right-handed pitching prospect Drew Smith in a big role.

"I told him exactly that, what a pleasure it was to watch him in the eight years he had been a Met", the Mets manager said. It's what made him a trade asset for the Mets, who hope to recoup some value from their slew of players on expiring contracts.
