A statistic is now doing the rounds on social media after Manchester City signed Benjamin Mendy, for another world record transfer fee, on Monday.

Mendy will address a big hole in City's squad at left-back following the departures of Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov, along with fellow full-backs Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna.

'There has been strong interest from other clubs, but it has always been my ambition to play for Pep Guardiola. I adapt easily. There are some players with whom I exchanged a few emails, I knew them from years ago.

He continued: "Last season catapulted the youngster onto the global stage as part of the exciting, cavalier Monaco side that upset the odds in Ligue 1 and the Champions League".

KYLE WALKER made his first appearance for Manchester City against Manchester United in Houston today. In 2011 he signed his first professional contract as an 18-year-old who was a member of the French youth national team.

Manchester City have announced the signing of Real Madrid star Danilo, who has revealed that he turned down the chance to move elsewhere so he could work under Pep Guardiola.

Participants at the event included SC lawyer Monika Arora, Major General (retired) G D Bakshi and US-based author Rajeev Malhotra. JNUTA said it is "amused by the JNU VC's earnest desire that a tank be rolled onto JNU campus".

City are nearly certain to rotate their full backs, with Danilo, who can play on both sides, acting as a cover for Mendy and Walker.

The defender signed a £52million move to England's top-flight earlier this month, becoming one of the most expensive defenders in football history, but Mendy could have begun his Premier League career four years ago when Sunderland were interested. "For such a young player, he has a wealth of top-level experience", the Spaniard said.

Mendy quickly managed to establish himself as one of the best full-backs in world football with his powerful and direct style of play.

Mendy will likely prove to be an excellent buy for City, and his addition to their impressive list of summer recruits is yet another statement of intent from the club.

The Frenchman said: "I think I am the right person for the group".
