Spieth defeats Kuchar to win The Open Championship by 3 strokes

Starting the day with a three-shot lead from Matt Kuchar, the duo were level after four holes, with Spieth bogeying three of his opening four holes.

For a brief period Kuchar actually moved into the lead when Spieth dropped a shot after going way of course on the 13th hole. After taking an unplayable on the 13th hole on Sunday at the 146th Open Championship, Spieth bounced back with a birdie after almost making an ace on the par-3 14th. Tiger Woods was 24 when he won his third different major.

Gutsy Jordan Spieth toasted a dream come true after he battled back from the brink of another Major collapse to win the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

After wandering in an out of the golf trucks on the driving range, Spieth somehow saw his approach end up just short of the green, despite being over 100 yards right of the fairway.

Spieth is striving to join Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Nicklaus and Woods as the elite five to have won all four of the game's big titles at some stage in their career.

"He goes, 'You belong in that group, '" said Spieth.

Lyft announces plan to develop self-driving cars
The announcement comes after Lyft earlier this year introduced what it calls "the world's first open self-driving platform". And Lyft will continue to work in tandem with other stakeholders developing self-driving technology through that platform.

That year he had a shot at the third leg of an unprecedented calendar Grand Slam, missing out on an Open playoff by one shot at St. Andrews.

Spieth's feat did not go unnoticed by 18-times major victor Jack Nicklaus, who tweeted: "Great display of guts, determination and skill".

A wildly errant tee shot on the 13th evoked memories of last year's Masters meltdown when Spieth threw away the green jacket with a disastrous quadruple seven around Augusta National's Amen Corner. Spieth appeared to be headed for a double bogey at best. He becomes the youngest Open victor since the great Seve Ballesteros won the title at 22 in 1979. On the long 15th he drained a huge eagle putt across the green to recapture the lead, and another birdie on 16 took him two clear. China's Li Haotong finished six strokes back in third place.

On 18, Spieth played it safe with his tee shot. Nicklaus did it in his 16th major at the 1963 PGA Championship while Byron Nelson also did it in his 18th major at the 1940 PGA Championship.

"This is absolutely a dream come true". Spieth will try for his fourth next month at the PGA Championship.
