UIDAI mAdhaar app for Aadhaar cardholders launched in India

mAadhaar is official mobile application which will provide an interface to Aadhaar Number Holders to carry their demographic information viz.

mAadhaar app is a newly launched mobile application by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The app carries demographic information such as name, date of birth, gender and user's photograph that is linked with your Aadhaar number.

You will be able to download mAadhaar from Google Play Store. However, chances are that it might soon roll out to the iOS users as well. Now available on the Android platform, the app provides an interface to Aadhaar number holders to carry their demographic information, which is, name, date of birth, gender and address along with photograph by linking their Aadhaar number to their smart phones.

Through mAadhaar, they can now carry unique identification profile on their android mobile phones. With this initiative, UIDAI reduces the burden of carrying the Aadhaar card everywhere you go, given the fact that Aadhaar eKYC details are required for everything today.

But it is illegal to vote a couple of times in a general election or other national vote. He said the other states should be more forthcoming.

By using mAadhaar, the people can download their Aadhaar number profile through their smartphones.

If you have not gone to the UIDAI website to lock your biometrics for Aadhaar, then the app will prompt you to lock these. "LAUNCHING #mAadhaar- Carry your Aadhaar on your Mobile". Lastly, users can update their profiles too after successful completion of the request. Instead of that apps is featured with TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) generation process.

The mobile number registration with the Aadhaar card is said to take some 10 days time. Also, users need to use their registered mobile number to sign-up for the app.

UIDAI has confirmed in its recent announcement tweet that the app is still under beta testing and hence some features are disabled in this release which will be added in the upcoming updates. The app will work for Android 5.0 and upper version users for now.

The app doesn't allow you to enter the OTP manually.
